Care Guide

At Larroudé, quality remains a priority even after your shoes arrive. To help keep them well-preserved, we’ve prepared a guide with simple care instructions. By following these recommendations, your Larroudé shoes will remain in excellent condition and retain their appearance over time.

Natural Leather Sole

Our soles are made from high-quality, natural leather, tanned without the use of chrome – a more environmentally responsible process. Because this leather is light in color and untreated, visible wear and darkening over time is expected and natural.

While natural leather soles don’t offer the same abrasion resistance as synthetic materials, they reflect our commitment to sustainable luxury and timeless craftsmanship.

That’s why Larroudé shoes with leather soles come with a protective plastic film to minimize wear before first use. Be sure to remove this adhesive layer before wearing — using your shoes with the plastic still on can damage the sole and make it difficult to remove later.

Please note: Once the protective sole film has been removed, the shoes are no longer eligible for return.

Storage

To preserve your Larroudé shoes when not in use, follow these simple steps:

  • Store them in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight or heat sources, which can cause discoloration, drying, or warping of natural materials.
  • For added protection, use the Larroudé dust bag provided with your purchase. It helps maintain shape, prevents dust and scratches, and protects from moisture.

Following these habits will keep your shoes looking great for longer.

Cleaning

Leather

Avoid cleaning products that can strip the finish, as this may cause permanent damage. If the finish wears off, professional refinishing will be required. To maintain the leather, dust regularly with a dry, soft cloth and avoid exposure to moisture, high heat, or harsh conditions.

Metallic Leather

To preserve shine, wipe gently with a dry, soft cloth. For tougher spots, use a slightly damp cloth with neutral soap, then polish with a dry cloth to restore luster. Avoid excess moisture and harsh chemicals, which can damage the delicate metallic finish.

Haircalf Leather

To preserve texture and appearance, gently clean the surface with a lightly dampened cloth. Avoid excess moisture. Let the material air-dry naturally, away from direct heat sources.

Haircalf Leather
Patent Leather

Wipe with a dry, soft cloth to remove dust and fingerprints and maintain a polished look.

Note: Patent leather may transfer color if stored next to other shoes. To avoid this, keep them stored separately or inside the dust bag.

Patent Leather
Suede

Gently clean using a melamine sponge (magic sponge). Rub lightly across the surface to lift dirt and marks without damaging the material. Avoid applying too much pressure for best results.

Velvet

Use a melamine sponge (magic sponge), or a soft-bristled brush to gently remove surface dust. For more stubborn marks, use a product formulated for velvet care. Always test any product on a small, hidden area first to avoid altering color or texture.

Velvet
Raffia

Create a gentle cleaning solution by mixing a small amount of water, a drop of neutral soap, and a touch of alcohol. Apply the mixture using a soft cloth, taking care not to soak the material. Use small circular motions to clean, then let the raffia air-dry naturally.
