As the lead footwear designer for Larroudé, Gabriel Bolzan Vargas is responsible for bringing Marina’s creative visions to life. Quiet by nature, his talent is immense, thinking of every last design detail, including the signature Larroudé last. Who would have thought a skater like Gabriel would be the one responsible for these undeniably feminine designs?
First of all, how are you doing?
Doing great! Even though we are in a pandemic, I like the last few months of my life.

Keep going, you are doing great! Keep being a little crazy and take your risks. When you do it right, it leads you to great places and good things come back.

Describe your first memorable shoe-buying experience? Where were you, what did you buy, and how did you feel?
For sure my first skateboarder sneakers when I was 12yo in my hometown in south Brazil. It was great, buying those shoes made me feel part of something, a group, I felt like a skateboarder and that was a group I wanted to be in. Their low-key freedom.
What brings you joy lately? (books, recommendations, yoga, shopping, etc)

What is your secret dream (post-pandemic, of course)?
A nice road trip around South America. Many countries, city, landscapes, understand local cultures, music, food, booze, cigars.
