When it came time to cast the Fall ’22 campaign, we wanted to work with models that could embody the same joy that characterizes everything we do and create here at Larroudé. We had the pleasure of working with models Barbra Lee Grant, Palak Gupta, and Polina Shapran, who came game to run around the city with us and photog Tommy Ton—modeling Fall in the Summer heat, no less. The resulting images are as happy, spirited, and vibrant as they are…exactly what we’d hoped to capture. Get to know more about Polina Shapran—a fresh young face who you’re sure to see more of.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

My name is Polina. I was born in Russia, but grew up most of my life in a small seaside town in Turkey. I spent a lot of time by the water, swimming and diving. It was a great place to grow up, the people are so welcoming and there was always something new and beautiful to explore. 🙂

How did you first begin your career in modeling?

Some time around my 14th birthday, I started my modeling journey. My mother always saw my potential and encouraged me to get into modeling, but I was unsure if it was for me. It was not the easiest journey to get to where I am today in my career, but it was worth all of the hard work and I am very grateful for everything and to everyone that I’ve met and worked with along the way.

This is your first shoot in NYC (congrats!) How does it feel to be working with someone like Tommy Ton in a city like New York?

Yes! It was my first shoot in New York! It was unforgettable and a dream come true to have this opportunity to work with Marina Larroudé and Tommy Ton on my first shoot in NYC! We had so much fun on set! :)

What is your dream job to book?

There are so many talented designers, photographers, artists, and stylists that I would love to meet and create beautiful work with, and being in New York is opening up so many doors and opportunities. I am definitely on the right track—every job feels like a dream job to book!

What is your favorite thing about yourself; physical or otherwise?

Hmm…I love that I have a positive outlook on life. I LOVE dancing, it just makes everything better. Even if I’m not having the best day, I can dance and sing along to a Whitney Houston song and every worry immediately goes away. Trust me, it works! 🕺🏻✨

What does your ideal day look like?

Working and being on set with a great team is always an ideal day! And any day that I can sing and dance haha!

    Last thing you read?

“Life Is Setting Me Up for Success” by a friend of mine from Mexico, Victor Levy. This book shows you how to stay present in life and how to find unconditional happiness and love. It also shows us that sometimes the things that we think we want and need the most in life are not necessarily the things that are meant for us in the moment. It’s a really great book!

What is something on your bucket list?

To be honest I don’t have a bucket list—there is always something new that I want to do and accomplish every day! ✨

What are your hopes for the year to come?

I’m looking forward to all of the things to come being here in NYC and meeting people that will bring something new and exciting into my life! I am also hoping that this upcoming Fashion Week in September will be filled with great opportunities for me!
