Getting anything done during quarantine was no easy task. Well, leave it to Marina Larroudé, formerly Barney's VP fashion director, to launch her eponymous footwear and accessories brand during that uneasy time. Her statement-making designs are instant mood-lifters—something we love here at Veronica Beard. Plus, debuting the entire line via Zoom was a challenge—to say the least—but Marina was and continues to be a game-changer in the world of fashion. Here, we chat with the founder on how she does it all and, trust us, you'll want to take notes.
Every day. I never stop. I don't know life without the hustle.
My passion for fashion got me started, and my drive and ambition make me continue.
Overthink, and then I go with to my intuition
Launching Larroudé during a global pandemic. From conception to execution, all was done via Zoom, and it was not an easy task. I took one challenge at a time and kept my hopes high for better days.
HOW I MAKE IT HAPPEN
3 morning musts…
Coffee, a Tracy Anderson workout, kids' drop-offs
3 life hacks…
When life is hard, stop for ice cream, have a therapist, spend quality time with the kids and spend quality (alone) time with your partner. Rinse and repeat!
Have a strong and resourceful team, delegate, and respond to all emails in a timely matter (within 24 hours, max)
I light up palo santo every day at the office
Do the right thing every single day. It pays off.
I tend to wear classic shapes and prints. Feminine pieces usually suit me better and VB clothes are just made for real women—the fit is impeccable and enhances a woman’s body. And the blazers! They are my staple. My go-to's over dresses or paired with jeans. A blazer completes any outfit.
