A Day in D.C. With Marina and FLOTUS

A Day in D.C. With Marina and FLOTUS

We asked our co-founder to share a bit about her day in D.C. celebrating the opening of the new exhibit “First Ladies” at the National Museum of American History.

When I opened the invitation from FLOTUS herself, I couldn’t contain my excitement. She’s always been such a role model to me and the chance to meet her in person (especially after seeing her wearing her Erin Clutch on multiple occasions) was more than I could have ever dreamed of—especially as a new American citizen.

I took the train down from NYC for the day, in the company of some incredible other female NY-based designers the first lady has worn (and loved), including Markarian, Jennifer Fisher Jewelry, Gabriela Hearst, and Gigi Burris.

We saw her introduce the looks she wore to the 2021 inauguration and walked through the museum to see looks from Michelle Obama and more. I got to tell Dr. Jill Biden how much she has meant to me as a female role model and how proud we’ve been to be even a slim part of her life on special occasions.

See some of the photos from a day I’ll never forget.
