A Day in Dallas
Here is a guide to the perfect day in Dallas (from the born and raised Dallas local herself!) DTX will always be home for me and I am so happy to share my absolute go-to's.
Spring is here which means Dallas is heating up. Although, this specific time of year brings the most stunning sunny and 70 degree weather. If you've visited Dallas, you probably know that there is a lot of eating, drinking, and shopping to be done. Here is the itinerary for your next visit:
Good morning!! First things first- it's time to grab an iced almond milk latte at LDU (stands for "Land Down Under") which is arguably the best coffee in Dallas! Park Cities coffee lovers would whole heartedly agree with me, especially as the location on Preston Rd is packed with locals ( your destined to run into somebody you know).
The shoe of choice must be our Mary Kate Leather Sandal, a serious no brainer slip-on.
After some proper caffeination, it's time for some of the best pilates in Dallas at Pilates Barre. 9:30 BarreFormer class with Lo Roberts, of course.
The Pilates Barre has turned into the neighborhoods go-to pilates spot. The instructors are amazing and it's just a great experience.
Slip into these cute grippy socks and our Milan Slides to make life a little easier!

Post-workout essential: a smoothie from The Gem.
"The first free-standing organic juice bar in Dallas, The GEM was founded in 2012 by Mary Kathryn Bass and Leslie Needleman, CHHC. Leslie discovered firsthand the power of organic juice, clean food, and a plant-based, anti-inflammatory diet after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009. Together with her disco soul sister, Mary Kathryn, they both fell in love with a healthy, happy lifestyle that included mind, body and spirit—and found they could use food as medicine to heal and to stay healthy for a lifetime" - Thegem.com
It's become such a beloved part of the Dallas community!!!
Time to shop!
If you know what's cool in Dallas, you're shopping at Cabana, Canary, and Clover on West Lovers Ln. Make your way down the line: start at Cabana for beachy/casual brands like Tanya Taylor and Ulla Johnson. Next stop is Canary for all things Altuzarra, Erdem, and chic European brands. Last stop is Clover! The place for young gals to find the perfect Agolde jean shorts, Still Here denim, and Perfect White Tee basics.
Our Verona Ballet Flat and Charli Mule are perfect options for walking around all day while still keeping it cute.
A quick 5 minute car ride will take you to the next best shopping in Dallas: the iconic Highland Park Village.
Some of the best stores to browse:
La Ligne
FRAME
Market
Jenni Kayne
La Vie Style House
The Conservatory
Fun fact: Highland Park Village is America’s first shopping center! The Mediterranean Spanish-style development was constructed in 1931.
You can read about The Village's legacy here!
Transition into the evening with a Mambo Taxi at Monkey Bar while you're still in Highland Park Village. This is the place to see and be seen.
Head up the back stairs at Mi Cocina (a true Dallas Tex Mex essential) to grab drinks at the sunny and chic bar. If you need something to hold you over, grab a small booth and get chips and guac with your marg. You truly can't go wrong with Monkey Bar!
Our new best selling Nadia Sandal in Lemonade Leather is perfect for the occasion.
For the best American fair (as well as the best pressed sushi) R+D Kitchen is a must! As a part of the Hillstone restaurant group, it is bound to be great. Hillstone is actually directly across the street, so if the wait is long at R+D, just head on over to put your name down for a slightly different but incredible menu.
P.S. the Ranch Water is great here!
Throwing in a sushi guide for good measure.
Here are my top sushi restaurants ranked:
1. Tei An

2. Pearl Sushi

3. Uchi

And those are the musts!
Next time you find yourself in Dallas, look no further than this trusty guide.
